To create Focuset, we
have hand-selected extraordinary ingredients from around the world for their
proven effectiveness and safety. We start with ingredients of the highest
concentration, not diluted powders or other compromised forms. Each Focuset
caplet is then manufactured under the strictest quality controls in adherence
with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The result is a unique, premium
formula supporting enhanced focus, concentration, energy, memory, and mood,
while helping to support reduced stress and
anxiety.

L-Theanine |
L-Theanine is an amino acid that promotes a restful, relaxedstate without diminishing daytime alertness. It is free of side effects commonly associated with other relaxing agents. There are also scientific indications that L-Theanine also supports healthy blood pressure levels that are already within normal limits. In Japan it is added to numerous foods and beverages. Two studies showed that within 30-40 min of consumption of 50 - 200 mg of L-theanine there is an increase of alpha wave activity in brain, which is associated with relaxation. The perceived relaxation
effect in the subjects coincided with the detection of alpha waves. This shows that L-theanine fosters a state of alert relaxation. Interestingly, anxious people have fewer or smaller alpha waves. The main difference between L-theanine and other anti-stress herbs is that L-theanine does not produce drowsiness or promote sleep. This is an important point. People who are in stressful situations can mitigate the harmful effects of stress with L-theanine without becoming sedated in the process. If a person is already relaxed, studies show that taking L-theanine will not produce further relaxation. Green Tea |
Oriental cultures have known about green tea's medicinal benefits since ancient times and have used tea as a general all purpose tonic and for its relaxation effects. The relaxing effect is caused by the presence of a neurologically active amino acid, L-Theanine (gamma-ethyl-amino-L-glutamic acid). Green Tea has the reputation of having less caffeine than coffee but it is the L-theanine in the tea that lessens the stimulant effect of caffeine on the human nervous system. Green tea has many health benefits, including lowering your cholesterol, boosting your immune system and even helping to prevent cavities and tooth decay. A team of British researchers found that a steady diet of green tea led patients to fewer, and less active, enzymes associated with
memory loss and Alzheimer's disease. Green tea extract is bioflavonoid rich, which helps fight free radicals in your body. Green tea is over 200 times more potent than vitamin E in fighting free radicals and pro-oxidants. Rhodiola Rosea |
Rhodiola rosea has been intensively studied in Eastern Europe, Russia, and Scandinavia for more than 35 years. It has a reputation for stimulating the nervous system, decreasing depression, enhancing work performance, eliminating fatigue, and preventing high altitude sickness. Rhodiola rosea has been categorized as an adaptogen by Russian researchers due
to its observed ability to increase resistance to a variety of chemical, biological, and physical stressors. Its benefits include antidepressant, anticancer, cardioprotective, and central nervous system enhancement.
Research also indicates great utility in asthenic conditions (decline in work performance, sleep difficulties, poor appetite, irritability, hypertension, headaches, and fatigue) developing subsequent to intense physical or intellectual strain. Rhodiola Rosea is also known as a powerful antioxidant.
Yerba Maté |
Yerba Maté is an evergreen tree growing wild near
streams in South America. Wild-collected Maté has been used by Native Americans in Brazil and Paraguay
since time in memorial. In northern India, Maté grows in Lucknow. The Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia lists Maté for psychogenic headache, fatigue, nervous depression, and rheumatic pains. We have chosen Yerba Maté because it is an effective combatant against mental and physical fatigue. Guarana |
Guarana is derived from the seeds of Paullinia cupana, also called P. sorbilis, a plant that grows in the rainforests of the Brazilian Amazon. It has been included primarily for its caffeine derivative which enters the body at a slower rate than other conventional forms of caffeine (e.g. coffee). NADH |
NADH is the abbreviation used for Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide, one of the most important coenzymes in the human brain and body. A coenzyme is the active or working form of a vitamin. NADH is the electron/energy rich coenzyme form of vitamin B3. NADH is necessary to transform all foodstuffs (fats, sugars, amino-acids) into much of the ATP bioenergy that literally powers our life. Given the multi-dimensional roles of NADH in all aspects of human cellular ATP production, favorable results with NADH in fatigue situations is hardly surprising. Through its multiple roles in producing ATP energy, NADH is expected to literally energize the brain. Interestingly, depression may be in part related to the brain's lowered energy status. Not surprisingly therefore, the Birkmayers reported in their 1992 paper in New Trends in Clinical Pharmacology , a beneficial effect in 93% of the NADH treated depressed patients. Vinpocetine
Vinpocetine is derived from Tabersonine, the alkaloid extract of Voacanga seeds. Vinpocetine supports brain metabolism by increasing cerebral synthesis of ATP, the universal currency of energy and improving the brain's utilization of oxygen by dilating the blood vessels and improving circulation within the brain but not dilating other blood vessels.
Vinpocetine also increase the synthesis of several neurotransmitters that affect critical brain functions such as memory recall, focus, and mood. Healthy subjects exhibit significant short term memory improvement.
Vinpocetine has also been used to alleviate headaches, speech impairment, vision disorders, inner-ear problems (tinnitus), and has also been known to improve the flexibility of red blood cells and may thereby
help to prevent strokes.
